Enjoy exploring all the creatures in the sea and learning about the different types of fish living in the sea. Under the Sea is all about friendship, fun, and social skills. Campers will enjoy fun activities centered around social interaction, cooperative play, conversation skills, turn taking, and many more skills appropriate for their age and ability level all while learning about the many sea creatures living in the oceans. Engaging crafts, music lessons, play opportunities, and outdoor activities will provide a variety of environments and chances to practice social interaction daily.

Social Skills Focus:

Meeting and Making Friends in their group while enjoying the many activities of camp each day

 

High School/Young Adult with HFA/Aspergers Specialty Group: Drama

This group is for High Functioning/Asperger's Middle School, High School and Young Adults

Join us for an unforgettable week of exploring drama with a focus on the backstage and scenery development! Pre-teens and teens will use various elements of art to design props, scenery and costumes. Lasting memories will be made as campers enjoy activities that build confidence in their skills. Group activities such as costume, set design, prop creation, and stage directions will give campers the opportunity to discover their strengths and to develop confidence in their communication skills and social interactions with other peers. Campers will be challenged to work together as a team and will learn the importance of responsibility and a job well done. Props, scenery and costumes will be used in the drama show on June 8.

About our Staff:

Staff members are educational professionals who understand and have been trained in the characteristics of and research based strategies used for children with special needs. Our camp staff is skilled in creating a structured and supportive environment that fosters the positive social and life skills of each camper who attends day camp.
